International Conference dedicated to the 55th anniversary of IBH RAS
and the 80th anniversary of the birth of Academician Yu.A. Ovchinnikov
The Organizing Committee and the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry named after Academicians M.M.Shemyakin and Yu.A.Ovchinnikov of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IBH RAS) announce the holding of an International Scientific Conference on Bioorganic Chemistry, Biotechnology and Bionanotechnology dedicated to the 55th anniversary of IBH RAS and the 80th anniversary of the birth of Academician Yu.A.Ovchinnikov.
The conference will be held in Moscow at the IBH RAS (Miklukho-Maklaya str., 16/10) from September 15 to 19, 2014.
It will be the largest forum bringing together specialists in the field of bioorganic chemistry, biotechnology, bionanotechnology. The Conference will be attended by outstanding scientists, including Nobel laureates Sidney Altman (USA), Roger Kornberg (USA) and Robert Huber (Germany), EMBL CEO Jan Mattei, Professors Angelo Azzi (USA), Michael Blackburn (USA), Behard Behinger (France), Jean-Luc Imle (France), Ernesto Carafoli (Italy), Richard Lerner (USA), Richard Pestel (USA), Yar Reisner (Israel), Ferdinand Huho (Germany), Joseph Schlesinger (USA), etc. It is planned to hold plenary sessions and poster sections. The working languages of the conference are Russian and English.
Those who wish to present their works at the conference in the form of poster messages can send abstracts and a questionnaire of the conference participant no later than June 16, 2014 to: ibch.conference@gmail.com .
In order to encourage the creative activity of young scientists in conducting scientific research, a competition of young scientists for the best research work is planned to be held within the framework of the conference. High school students, undergraduates, postgraduates, young scientists under the age of 35 who conduct scientific research in the field of physico-chemical biology, biotechnology and bionanotechnology are invited to participate in the competition. As awards for the winners of the competition, conference diplomas and cash prizes were established, as well as special prizes for the youngest participant, the youngest candidate of sciences and the youngest doctor of sciences.
Those who wish to submit their works for the competition can send the abstracts and the questionnaire of the participant of the competition no later than June 16, 2014 to: yak_ti@ibch.ru .
Within the framework of the conference, a qualifying round of the competition will also be held under the program "Participant of the youth scientific and Innovative competition" ("U.M.N.I.K."). There is no registration fee for participation in the conference or in the competition of young scientists.
