The angels will fly in April

The First Russian Week of Business Angels

At a meeting of the leadership of leading state development institutions and the National Association of Business Angels (NABA) held on September 30, 2011, it was decided to hold the First Russian Week of Business Angels in Russia on April 23-27, 2012.

The week is a series of events of a discussion, educational, informational and investment nature coordinated in time, content and geography, aimed at the development of the Russian venture capital investment market at an early stage.

Goals:

1. to give an additional impetus to the development of the Russian venture capital investment market at an early stage by combining and coordinating the efforts of its participants, public associations of entrepreneurs, state authorities and state development institutions,
2. to demonstrate the features and attractiveness of innovative activity to a wide range of potential entrepreneurs and investors and, thereby,
3. to contribute to the involvement of the most active segments of the Russian population in the innovation and modernization project.

Main categories of events of the Week:

• Discussions on innovation and early stage venture investment market development – forums, round tables;
  Educational events – trainings, seminars for investors, entrepreneurs and service organizations;
• Investment–related events - presentations, contests and fairs of early-stage venture projects;
• Informational events – press conferences, briefings, etc.

Target groups of participants/beneficiaries:

• Investment market participants – angels and seed funds;
• Entrepreneurs planning to attract venture capital;
• Service providers (lawyers, financiers, other consultants) working in the interests of investors and entrepreneurs;
• Representatives of state authorities and state development institutions responsible for the development of Russian and regional early-stage venture capital markets;
• Journalists interested in information coverage of the market.

Main groups of event operators:

• Members of the National Association of Business Angels;
• Operators of contests, fairs of venture projects;
• Authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation;
• State development institutions of the Russian Federation and subjects of the Russian Federation (foundations, agencies, etc.);
• Operators of various educational programs;
• Public associations of entrepreneurs;
• Infrastructure organizations, including technology parks, business incubators, nanocenters, special economic zones, etc.

The general management and coordination of the work on the preparation and holding of the Week is carried out by the Organizing Committee, which includes the heads of all leading state development institutions and business associations.

The central event of the Week will be the holding on April 23-24, 2012 in Moscow of the XII Annual Congress of the European Association of Business Angels - a key event of the early stage venture investment market in Europe, which will be attended by up to 500 representatives of leading international associations of business angels, seed funds, service providers, public authorities and state development institutions.
