Postgraduate study at the Charite Clinic

Grants (scholarships) for postgraduate studies in Germany

The German interuniversity cluster NeuroCure (The NeuroCure Excellence Cluster), based at the Charite Clinic of the Medical University of Berlin, announces the acceptance of applications for postgraduate studies.

Cluster (NeuroCure Excellence Cluster) formed

  • Humboldt University (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin),
  • Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin)

with the participation of

  • Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine Berlin-Buch, MDC,
  • Leibniz Institute of Molecular Pharmacology (Leibniz-Institut für Molekulare Pharmacologie, FMP)
  • Berlin Rheumatology Research Center (Deutsche Rheuma-Forschungszentrum Berlin, DRFZ).

The beginning of the training program is 2013.

The fellows will be offered training in an interdisciplinary program and the opportunity to participate in research projects in the following areas:

  • Molecular mechanisms of nervous system development and function
  • Mechanisms of neural damage and cellular age
  • Endogenous brain protection
  • Nervous system regeneration
  • Crosstalk between nervous and immune system
  • Developmental disturbances
  • Synaptic plasticity.

The duration of training is 3 years.

Specialists with a master's degree with fundamental knowledge in neurobiology, neurochemistry, neuroimmunology, and neuroendocrinology can apply for participation in the program. The presence of clinical, practical research experience, the presence of printed works on the topic is welcome.

The application is submitted online. It is necessary to send a CV, two letters of recommendation, and an application for participation in the program to neurocure-phd@charite.deApplications for participation in the program are accepted until January 7, 2013.

The selected candidates will be invited to undergo an interim Skype interview in February 2013. In March, the final interview will take place, according to the results of which the final list of participants of the program will be determined.
