Do you want to lose weight? Live on a living wage!

The official, having lived for a month on a living wage, lost 5.5 kg

Tatiana Kuznetsova, RIA NovostiDmitry Zhertovsky, deputy head of the administration of the Tbilisi district of Krasnodar Krai, who lived on a living wage for a month, was able to complete the experiment with a balance of 75 rubles, losing 5.5 kilograms at the same time, a representative of the press service of the district administration told RIA Novosti.

The experiment started on March 19. The official wanted to show that it is impossible to live on this money. He hoped that entrepreneurs would raise the salaries of their employees and thereby increase revenues to the local budget at the expense of income tax.

Zhertovsky has not yet commented on the results of his experiment to the agency.

The subsistence minimum in the Krasnodar Territory at the beginning of the experiment was 6,444 thousand rubles. Zhertovsky planned to spend about 2 thousand rubles on groceries for a month, the rest of the money – to pay for utilities and non-food products. According to the district administration, it was decided not to take into account transportation costs (and an official gets to work from a neighboring district) and the cost of clothes and shoes in the experiment.

Zhertovsky reported on the progress of his experiment in a microblog on Twitter, from the messages in which it follows that on the last day of the "month for a living wage" he ate 53 rubles.

"The balance of den funds after the experiment is 75.03p," wrote Zhertovsky.

Before the start of the experiment, the official visited the polyclinic, where he underwent a medical examination: he passed a blood test, did an ECG.

According to an employee of the administration, the deputy head of the district lost 5.5 kilograms in a month.
