Russia's first "Innovation Boutique" opened in MoscowInformation channel "State News"

On July 1, 2011, the opening of the first Russian "Boutique of Innovations" took place in Moscow. As part of the event at the Digital October Center, professional judges and guests chose the best innovative idea of the country – the project "Laser Outdoor Advertising". With the help of the boutique, its organizers, a Russian venture company and the all-Russian contest of innovative ideas, technologies and business plans BIT, presented a new direction to private investors in Russia – business angel investments in technology startups.

"Following America and Europe, Russia is beginning to show an active interest in private investment in innovative startups. Of course, this will become a new trend among the wealthy public of our country. Business angelism is a risky occupation, but gambling and, if successful, super profitable. If it were not for business angels, the world would not have seen companies such as Apple, Google and Skype, whose origins were private investors who believed in new business ideas and, by the way, became billionaires in a short time," comments Natalia Tsarevskaya, director of the BIT competition.

The project "Laser outdoor advertising" became the winner according to the results of SMS voting of the guests of the Startup Boutique. Thanks to the innovative device presented by its developer, city buildings can be cleaned of outdoor advertising and architecture can return to its former appearance. In total, four ideas competed for the title of the best at the event, each of which was presented by its own "business angel".

Ksenia Sobchak presented to the audience the "Button of Life" – a small device that is attached to the wrist and serves as an emergency call for help to the elderly and people with disabilities.

Olga Shelest presented the project "Forest Watch" – a system for monitoring forests and early detection of forest fires.

Yana Churikova supported the team that created EXOMAN, a new class of exoskeletons – a device that is worn on a person and increases his physical capabilities many times.

Mikhail Shats also presented the project of the finalist of the Startup Boutique.

In total, the first Innovation Boutique presented 21 business projects to the jury. Each of them was selected as part of the BIT competition from more than 700 applications "at the entrance" by more than 60 judges from Russia and the USA. The prize fund was provided by a Russian venture company in the amount of 3 million rubles.

All finalists received monetary rewards and educational grants from the partners of the competition, and the winner of the first Startup Boutique project received a certificate for dinner with Oleg Tinkov.
