Rusnano and Skolkovo to create Biomedicine Coordination Center

The Skolkovo Foundation and the Rusnano State Corporation have signed a memorandum on the establishment and development of a joint coordinating advisory center (JCC) on biological and medical technologies, the Skolkovo Foundation reports. The purpose of the center is to develop and develop a coordinated strategy based on the combination and interaction of interdisciplinary knowledge of both organizations in the field of biological and medical technologies.

The document was signed by Andrey Malyshev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Rusnano, and Igor Goryanin, Executive Director of the Biological and Medical Technologies cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation.

The main areas of work of the KCC will be systemic biomedicine, systemic biopharmaceuticals, systemic medical bioinformatics and industrial biotechnologies, the report says. Within the framework of cooperation, the parties will search, examine and structure innovative projects in these areas in order to develop joint schemes for their financing. In addition, the Foundation and Rusnano will cooperate in the field of scientific and technical expertise of innovative projects.

Rusnano and Skolkovo will also engage in joint activities related to the development of their infrastructure projects. The parties will work on the development of interdisciplinary educational programs in the areas of work of the KCC.
