Ciprofloxacin, which was suspected of having a detrimental effect on human cells, is excreted from the body after 48 hours, says infectious disease specialist Viktor Maleev.
The antibiotic ciprofloxacin is not able to affect the human body more strongly than other similar drugs. This was stated by the director of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor Viktor Maleev in a conversation with Channel Five.
Before that , a number of media outlets with reference to the latest research by scientists from The University of Eastern Finland wrote that ciprofloxacin destroys DNA. According to the researchers, the side effect of the antibiotic can develop inflammation of tendon tissues up to their rupture, as well as lead to various neurological disorders. Finnish scientists have declared a real alarm, because today ciprofloxacin is one of the most popular drugs in the world.
– All antibiotics are harmful to some extent. There are no useful antibiotics. That is why they should be taken only in extreme cases. If you drink ciprofloxacin, based on the doctor's testimony, then nothing will happen. It is quickly excreted from the body. After 48 hours, there are no traces of him," the infectious disease specialist explained.
