Clones of the Belgian Shepherd in Yakutia: failed :(

Sheepdogs-clones are not adapted for service in Yakutia

Cloned Belgian shepherds, who were brought to Yakutia from Korea, did not pass the control test of the cynological service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As the deputy head of the cynological service told IA YakutiaMedia Alexey Kolmogorov, clone dogs are not adapted for service in the harsh conditions of the northern republic.

The Korean Institute Sooam Biotech Research Foundation sent three cloned dogs of the Belgian Malinois breed to the Yakut regional branch of the Russian Military Historical Society. Head of the Company Valery Chugunov, in turn, offered them to the cynological service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yakutia.

However, the Belgian Shepherds could not pass the control test. As the deputy head of the cynological service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexey Kolmogorov said, in order to get to the service, dogs must pass the so-called entrance control, that is, perform 13 tasks. At the same time, if the dog fails to complete only 1 or 2 tasks, then it has a chance to retake the control test after certain classes. But the cloned dogs failed to complete the control tasks.

It should be noted that two dogs tried to pass the inspection of the cynological service. "One of them couldn't complete any tasks at all. Immediately lay down from the cold. The second dog has slightly better results, that is, she completed only 50% of the tasks. They are not adapted to our harsh conditions – smooth—haired, do not withstand frosts," Kolmogorov said.

In addition, dogs do not have pedigree documents. And the Korean Institute assured that the dogs were cloned from the cells of the best sniffer dog in Korea, and they inherited her unique abilities.

Meanwhile, scientists are sure that such dogs should be under the supervision of scientists, since the body of cloned animals is weaker and susceptible to diseases and mutations, and the influence of the external environment on the nature of such animals has not been sufficiently studied.
