An inactivated polio vaccine developed on domestic virus strains by the M. P. Chumakov Institute of Polio and Viral Encephalitis can be submitted for registration at the end of this year or the beginning of next. This was reported to journalists on the sidelines of the Gaidar Forum by Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Sergey Kraevoy.

"We still hope that by the end of 2019 - the beginning of 2020, the Chumakov Institute will register a domestic vaccine, also inactivated," he explained, answering a question from TASS.

Kraevoy also noted that this vaccine was created on the basis of domestic strains of the polio virus. "We are waiting for this vaccine ourselves," the Deputy Minister of Health added.

The Gaidar Forum is an annual international scientific and practical conference in the field of economics, held since 2010. The forum is organized by the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), the Gaidar Institute of Economic Policy and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR). TASS is the general information partner of the Gaidar Forum.
