In the USA, the head of the Internet company InterActiveCorp media mogul Barry Diller cloned his Jack Russell terrier named Shannon. This is reported by the New York Post (Billionaire Barry Diller clones his dog).

The procedure cost the entrepreneur 100 thousand dollars. Cloning was carried out by a Korean organization that has already created almost identical replicas of other puppies.

A representative of the Dealer confirmed the cloning, but did not give other comments. Whether Shannon is alive also remains unknown.

The 74-year-old Diller is married to American fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. Shannon is their mutual pet. The couple constantly took the animal with them, including to social events. The total capital of the Dealer is estimated at almost three billion dollars.

In August 2014, a British dachshund named Vinnie met her replica for the first time. The owners decided to clone an elderly animal in early 2014, and on March 30, a Mini-Winnie was born in a South Korean laboratory.

Hostess Rebecca Smith managed to carry out the procedure thanks to winning a competition organized by Sooam Biotech, which is engaged in cloning pets.

Presumably, Shannon was also cloned thanks to the South Korean laboratory Sooam Biotech, founded in 2006, which belongs to veterinarian and researcher Hwang Woo-suk. The first replica of the dog was created in 2007.
