In Taiwan, police conducted a DNA test to find the thief of yogurt in a student dormitory

This is told by the BBC with reference to the Taiwanese broadcaster TVBS.

Yogurt was stolen from one of the students who lived in the hostel. Five other students lived in the same room with her.

The girl found a yogurt package in the trash. After no one wanted to confess to the crime, the student went to the police and demanded an investigation.

Since it was already impossible to take fingerprints from the package, the student asked the police to conduct a DNA analysis.

The police agreed and took a sample from all five suspects, as well as from the girl who reported the yogurt missing. It turned out that one of the student's neighbors really drank the drink. Her name is not called.

News about the investigation into the theft of yogurt has caused criticism from ordinary citizens, writes the local tabloid Apple Daily. They were outraged that a procedure worth the equivalent of $98 for each analysis was used to investigate the theft of yogurt, the price of which is $1.92. Moreover, the money for the analysis is taken from the budget.
