Sniffer dogs were cloned in South Korea

Dog breeders have already started training puppies cloned by special order of the customs service of the country in one of the biotech companies.

With the help of Labrador cells, which customs officers considered one of their most successful bloodhounds, scientists received seven puppies from three surrogate mothers. A representative of the South Korean customs service said that the puppies had successfully passed the first stage of training. Dog breeders say that puppies show the same abilities as their ancestor named Chase.

If they continue to show themselves in a decent way, then in June they will be able to enter the service.

Only a third of dogs go through a difficult training course and receive a diploma of a bloodhound. But scientists in South Korea believe that with the help of cloning, this figure can be increased to 90%.

The project of cloning dogs to work in the customs service received state funding in the amount of 300 million won (about 300 thousand US dollars).
