The next counterfeiters have been arrested
The Department of Economic Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg stopped the activities of a group that was illegally engaged in the production of a fake drug "TeraFlu". According to the press service of the department, the fake medicine was sold in various regions of Russia.
During the operational search activities, the department's employees found that the leader of this criminal group is the CEO of one of the pharmaceutical companies, who organized a workshop for the production of a counterfeit drug. Operatives under the guise of buyers agreed with the leader of the group to purchase 8.2 thousand packages of medicine for 1 million rubles on the territory of the Moscow region.
As a result of the verification purchase, the leader of the scammers and his assistants were detained red-handed. At the same time, the offices of the pharmaceutical company and underground workshops in St. Petersburg were searched.
During the searches, 3,443 packages of counterfeit medicine, consumables for its manufacture, fake seals of the copyright holder were seized. 2 machines for packaging and packaging of the drug, more than 100 kg of prepackaged mixture and 10 thousand packages were found.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact on the grounds of the corpus delicti provided for in Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud).
It is worth noting that in 2008, the units for combating economic crimes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia revealed more than 55 thousand facts of fraud, more than 36.5 thousand criminal cases were sent to court, more than 8 thousand persons who committed these crimes were identified.
