In five years, all vaccines will be produced in Russia
It will take from three to five years to create it, Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova said.
According to the plan of the authorities, all vaccines without exception will be developed and produced in Russia in the coming years. To do this, the sites of the main research centers, large production facilities and small companies should form a single structure, the head of the department explained.
"We have set ourselves the task of moving within the next period of time (somewhere within three to five years) to full self-sufficiency in the production of immunobiological drugs. All the substances of all the vaccines that we need both for the national calendar and for any epidemic situations – they should be developed in Russia. Therefore, the decision was made by the President of Russia to create a national immunobiological cluster," Skvortsova told reporters.
It is assumed that the new organization will be able not only to produce vaccines for Russians, but also to work actively for export. "It will be a large structure of different legal entities, but it will be functionally conducted from one conductor," the head of the Ministry of Health described the work of the future immunobiological cluster.
