Nanosensors embedded in the dressing material glow in ultraviolet light if the wound becomes infected.
01 July 2021The DermaTrax "smart dressing material" will wirelessly transmit an alarm signal to the nursing station in case of signs of infection of the wound or other violations of the healing process.
07 December 2015The "smart" patch is made of hydrated agarose containing nanocapsules with a fluorescent dye. The dye is released under the action of toxins synthesized by pathogenic bacteria.
16 November 2015When pathogenic bacteria enter the wound, the nanocapsules in the dressing are destroyed, releasing particles of fluorescent paint in ultraviolet light. Nanocapsules do not react to safe bacteria.
03 April 2013The most promising projects for the development of military medicine concern artificial eyes, autonomous diagnostic devices, a new type of tissue, portable blood purification systems and wound healing mechanisms.
