Smart" fabric for new generation clothing

First of all, the unique fabric will be useful for those who lead a healthy lifestyle and play sports.

"Our fabric can be embedded in any other. It can be shirts, trousers or something else. Smart Sensing has integrated sensors, a small battery and a transmitter that sends real–time data to a smartphone," says Gilbert Reveillon, managing director of the company.

An array of tiny sensors is sewn into the Smart Sensing canvas, designed to record vital signs of the body, in particular, body temperature, respiratory rate and heart rate, movement speed, sweating intensity, etc. The program also warns about the danger in case of heavy loads, the risk of a heart attack, etc.

All this data will be transmitted wirelessly to a mobile device using a small transceiver, from where it will be possible to find out about your health status, physical activity, etc. through a special application.

Interestingly, the "smart" fabric can be washed in a conventional washing machine and ironed. Currently, developers are already designing an efficient mini-battery charging system that allows generating energy directly in the washing drum – due to intensive movements.

In the future, the development may receive additional sensors that will measure the oxygen content in the blood, respiratory volume and even sugar levels. Smart Sensing is planned to be put into commercial production this year.
