St. Petersburg stage of the Startup Tour - 2015

The All-Russian Startup Tour opens today in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg is hosting the All-Russian Startup Tour 2015 today, the Petersburg Diary reports. This is a project to search for promising innovations and young teams working in the field of high technology.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Mikhail Mokretsov, Advisor to the President of the Skolkovo Foundation Pekka Vilyakainen, Executive Director of the biomedical technologies cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation Kirill Kaem, Executive Director of the nuclear technologies cluster of the Skolkovo Foundation Igor Karavaev.

It is the Skolkovo Foundation, together with the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the Foundation for Assistance to the Development of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere, the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the Center for Innovative Development of Moscow, that are conducting the All-Russian Startup Tour 2015. The organizer of the regional stage of the Startup tour was the Committee for Industrial Policy and Innovation of St. Petersburg.

Today there will be meetings with experts and investors, speakers and master classes. Tomorrow, the participants will present their projects and the jury will determine three winners in each direction. Finalists in St. Petersburg will present such projects as Smart trolleys for supermarkets, a system for protecting drones from collisions with obstacles, an Internet refrigerator, a highly efficient Magnus effect wind generator and an innovative drug for the treatment of asthma and allergies.

The winners of the competition will present their projects on June 2-3 at the Startup Village conference.
