Biomembranes-2010

The State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University)" and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation invite students and postgraduates of physics and Mathematics, biological and Chemical faculties, young scientists and teachers of the CIS countries to participate in the work of the International Scientific School for Youth "Modern fundamental, medical and biotechnological aspects research of biological membranes" (BIOMEMBRANES 2010), which will be held in the Moscow region in Dolgoprudny at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology from October 3 to 7, 2010.

The main topic of the School is research and development in the strategically important section of biology, medicine and biotechnology – in the field of biological membranes. The School 's program includes three interrelated sections:

1) Fundamental research of biomembranes;
2) Medicine and biomembranes;
3) Biotechnologies and biomembranes.

Such an integrated approach will allow us to show the ways of transition from fundamental research to the use of their results in applied development and successful commercialization. Leading Russian and foreign specialists who occupy leading positions in the world in the relevant fields of research and development will be involved in teaching at the School. Compatriots currently working in the world's leading Laboratories will play a leading role in conducting the School. Among the lecturers of the school are members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, directors of Russian and foreign research institutes, professors of foreign universities and executives of firms.

Within the framework of the School, it is planned to hold a round table – "Integration of education, research and applied developments in the field of biological membranes", the purpose of which is to study the successful Russian and foreign experience of such integration.
