An industry complex of events will be held in the Koltsovo science city of the Novosibirsk Region from October 22 to 25 OpenBio-2019, dedicated to the development of high-tech business and the latest research in the field of life sciences.

The conference will be held for the first three days, from October 22 to 24, and a business forum is scheduled for Friday, October 25. OpenBio is supported by the government of the Novosibirsk Region and the administration of the Koltsovo Science City.

For the first time at the OpenBio conference, the section "Biophysics" will work along with the already traditional ones: "Virology", "Biotechnology" and "Molecular Biology". Also this year, scientists from eight countries of the world, including China, the USA and Belarus, will make reports. Special attention will be focused on research papers for agriculture.

"The fact that Biophysics appeared on OpenBio is a fundamental step! It is the task of biophysicists to create new diagnostic methods in medicine. We change the methods – the system is changing: new methods of analyzing biological cells and their functions require fundamental changes in the system of clinical diagnostics," Valery Maltsev, chairman of the jury in the section "Biophysics", PhD, professor, head of the Laboratory of Cytometry and Biokinetics of the IHKG SB RAS, shared his thoughts.

The conference program includes a presentation by Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Ancha Baranova from the American George Mason University on the topic "Inter-tissue cooperation: homeostatic exchange of helper molecules and new therapeutic possibilities". Baranova is a well–known specialist in the study of rare diseases and metabolic disorders, a practicing scientist with 10 patents to his credit. Also, open lectures will be delivered by Professor of Biophysics Valery Maltsev, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Netesov, head of the laboratory at the Department of Molecular Genetics of the Lerner Research Institute (Cleveland, USA), Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, PhD Peter Chumakov and researcher at the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy SB RAS, PhD Sergey Raschenko.

The forum part on OpenBio will traditionally take one day, on October 25. The central platform is the expert session "Technologies of Life" (beginning at 10.00). The session will be devoted to the global trends of livescience, active longevity, biology of aging and anti–aging medicine. The welcome speech will be delivered by the Governor of the Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov.

"Technologies that ensure the quality of life in a broad sense – from pharma to ecology – are a traditional priority of OpenBio. But this year, for the first time, we are placing such a strong emphasis on developments in the field of active longevity and preventive medicine. The role of OpenBio is to raise the global agenda and show developers the vectors of demand for technologies that are interesting to investors," Yulia Linyushina, Head of the OpenBio events complex.

The forum participants will have an important dialogue (beginning at 14.30) with the head of the territorial body of Roszdravnadzor in the Novosibirsk region Elena Khrustaleva. A representative of the federal regulator will talk about the latest developments in the circulation of medicines, changes and forecasts in pharmaceutical circulation. In turn, entrepreneurs from the pharmacology segment are interested in how the labeling of medicines will change in connection with the entry into force of Federal Law 449, what reports on new medicines are required and general questions about the civil circulation of medicines.

Other details of the OpenBio conference and forum will be presented at the press conference, which will begin on October 17 at 12.00 on the TASS platform. To participate in OpenBio events, you must register on the website, where the full program and the grid of events are presented.
