Competition under the program "Mikhail Lomonosov" for 2008/2009.

Full name: The PROGRAM "MIKHAIL LOMONOSOV II": research scholarships and scientific internships for scientists in the field of technical and natural sciences (Michail-Lomonosov-Forschungstipendien und -aufenthalte).

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation are opening another competition for scientific grants under the jointly funded Mikhail Lomonosov II program.

Target group:"A": Graduate students and young teachers of technical and natural sciences who will not yet be 35 years old on 01.10.2009, who have a specialist's or master's degree;


"B": Teachers of technical and natural sciences who are not yet 45 years old on 15.09.2009, who have a PhD or Doctor of Sciences degree.

Applicants must be employees of one of the state universities subordinate to Rosobrazovanie.

Applications from persons whose place of work is research institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences or universities of other jurisdiction are not accepted.

The joint scholarship program of DAAD and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation provides Russian graduate students and teachers of technical and natural sciences with the opportunity to work on a dissertation and research at universities and non-university research centers in Germany and expand contacts with German colleagues.

If applicants are already in Germany, then at the time of the opening of the DAAD scholarship, i.e. on October 1, 2009, their stay in Germany should not exceed two years.

Terms of stay in Germany:"A" - 01.10.2009 - 31.03.2010 ;

"In" - 09/15/2009 - 12/15/2009 ;

Language knowledge and its assessment:Applicants must have a good command of German or English to the extent sufficient to communicate with German colleagues on scientific topics.
For applicants of group "A", confirmation of language knowledge of German or English is required (for more information, see "General Provisions").

The documents for this program include mandatory:1. forms of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation

2. DAAD application form.

Three sets of documents (including forms A, B, C for the Ministry of the Russian Federation) with a note on the postal envelope "Mikhail Lomonosov Program" must be sent to the Moscow DAAD representative office by July 15, 2008 (by postmark).

The results of the consideration of the documents will be reported in writing.
