DAAD program "Mikhail Lomonosov II" for 2010-2011

attention: In accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and DAAD, starting from the current 2009, participation in the Mikhail Lomonosov II program is allowed only every second year.1. Full name: Joint program "Mikhail Lomonosov II" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and DAAD: research scholarships and scientific internships (Michail-Lomonosov-Forschungstipendien und -aufenthalte).



1.1 Internship terms:- from 01.10.2010 to 31.03.2011 (research scholarships for target group "A");

- from 15.09.2010 to 15.12.2010 (scientific internships for target group "B")

1.2 Target groups:"A": Graduate students and young teachers of technical and natural sciences who will not be 35 years old as of 01.10.2010, who have a specialist's or master's degree.


"B": Teachers of technical and natural sciences who will not yet be 45 years old on 15.09.2010, who have a PhD or Doctor of Sciences degree.

Applicants must be employees of one of the state universities subordinate to Rosobrazovanie. Due to the fact that the Rosobrazovanie system is constantly being reformed, before starting the paperwork, we recommend that you clarify the jurisdiction of your university directly in Rosobrazovanie. Applications from persons whose place of work is research institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences are not accepted.

The joint scholarship program of DAAD and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation provides Russian graduate students and teachers of technical and natural sciences with the opportunity to work on their dissertation and research at universities and non-university research centers in Germany and expand contacts with German colleagues.

1.3 Language knowledge and its assessment:Applicants must have a good command of German or English to the extent sufficient to communicate with German colleagues on scientific topics.
For applicants of group "A", proof of knowledge of German or English is required (see general provisions).

1.4 Application procedure:
The documents for this program include mandatory
1. forms of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation
2. DAAD application form.

Forms A, B and C of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation can be printed from the Internet: http://www.daad.ru/FormABCl.doc .

The DAAD form is filled in Online, printed out in PDF format and attached to the package of documents. If for some reason it is not possible to fill out the application form via the Internet, then you should use the universal DAAD - Antrag auf ein Forschungs-/ Studienstipendium - form, which can be printed from the Internet.

It is necessary to submit three sets of documents (two subsequent copies can be copied from the 1st set-the original).

All documents, except for Russian-language forms A, B and C of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, are submitted in German or English.

Russian Russian text Each of these sets should include the following documents, arranged in the following order (if the same document is presented in German/English and Russian, then the Russian text comes second):

Research scholarships - "A":1. Forms A, B and C of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;


2. DAAD application form with a photo pasted on;

3. Autobiography (CV);

4. list of scientific publications;

5. detailed plan of research work (2-3 pages);

6. an invitation from a German professor, which confirms the consent to the scientific management of a specific scientific project of the applicant and guarantees the provision of a workplace for him;

7. copies of the certificate of education, as well as their translation into German or English (copies of the translation can be certified by the university administration):
a) a copy of the diploma of the candidate of sciences (for candidates of sciences)*
b) a copy of the diploma of higher education together with an appendix to the diploma with the results of intermediate and final exams
c) a copy of the certificate of secondary (full) education with a report card of final grades of academic performance;

8. certificate of knowledge of German or English;

9. an address sheet (1 copy), which should be placed between the first and second set of documents and in which it is necessary to specify the name of the city with a postal code, the number of the house, building and apartment, phone numbers with the area code and a valid (personal) email address.

* - Candidates of Sciences have the right to participate in the program as an applicant of the target group "A" (the period of stay in Germany is 6 months), if their age does not exceed 35 years.

Scientific internships – "In": 1. Forms A, B and C of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;


2. DAAD application form with attached photo;

3. Autobiography (CV);

4. list of scientific publications;

5. detailed plan of research work (2-3 pages);

6. an invitation from a German colleague, which guarantees the provision of a job to the applicant;

7. a copy of the diploma of a candidate or doctor of sciences, as well as their translation into German
or English, certified by the university administration;

8. an address sheet (1 copy), which should be placed between the first and second sets of documents and in which it is necessary to specify the name of the city with a postal code, the number of the house, building and apartment, phone numbers with the area code and a valid (personal) email address.

Three sets of documents (including forms A, B, C for the Ministry of the Russian Federation) with a note on the postal envelope "Mikhail Lomonosov Program" must be sent to the Moscow DAAD representative office. The competition is open from May 15 to July 15, 2009. The deadline for submitting documents is July 15, 2009 by postmark.

The results of the consideration of the documents will be reported in writing.
