The Jacques Hadamard Mathematics Foundation (FMJH) has announced a competition for master's scholarships in the field of Mathematics in Life Sciences (Mathematics for Life Sciences) for studies at French participating universities (the Departments in Applied Mathematics of the École polytechnique, École Normale Supérieure de Cachan, and Paris Sud University in Orsay).

Students from any country of the world who have a bachelor's degree in mathematics or related disciplines, who finish their first year of master's or postgraduate studies at a foreign or French university in 2011-2012 are invited to participate in the competition. The selection of candidates will be based on academic results.

The scholarship is 10,000 euros per year, provided for study during the 2012-2013 academic year at the level of the second year of the master's degree. Medical insurance (Sécurité Sociale) is provided.

International students are reimbursed for transportation costs (one economy class ticket from their place of residence to France and back). FMJH provides accommodation in student dormitories (the cost of accommodation is deducted from the scholarship). The Foundation also provides an opportunity to study French.

Applications for participation in the program are accepted online from May 2 to June 2, 2012.
