The international biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announces the launch of a corporate acceleration program at the site of the Skolkovo Foundation.

The aim of the AstraZeneca – Skolkovo Startup Challenge 2018 accelerator is to search for innovative projects and solutions at early and late stages in the field of oncology, cardiovascular diseases, metabolism and kidneys, respiratory and autoimmune diseases.

More about the program:

The program is designed for 6 months. Participants will compete in two categories:

• medicinal products/biomedical cell products,
• test systems, hardware solutions and drug delivery devices.

Why participate:

Startups at an early stage will have the opportunity to use the modern capabilities of the shared access laboratory in the SkBioLab medical hackspace for 6 months.
Innovative projects at a late stage will be able to pass the training program on business competencies "100 days of growth for biomedical startups".
All participants of the program will work under the guidance of AstraZeneca scientific mentors, as well as have the opportunity to discuss the stages of research with experts in the relevant therapeutic areas
Participants will be able to apply for the status of a participant in the Skolkovo project and a mini-grant from the Skolkovo Foundation in the amount of up to 5 million rubles

Stages of the competition:

• April 2018 – the start of the collection of applications for participation in the competition.
• June 2018 – evaluation of applications and determination of the pool of finalists.
• July 2018 – determination of winners for participation in the acceleration program.
• July-December 2018 – implementation of the acceleration program.

In December 2018, upon completion of the acceleration program, participants will present their projects to an expert jury. The jury will include scientific experts from AstraZeneca, representatives of venture funds and universities-partners of the corporate accelerator.

Potential opportunities for cooperation in the field of science will be discussed with successful projects.
