Competition of innovative developments in the field of pharmacology, medicine and digital healthcare "Startup Rally 2018"
The Startup Rally 2018 Innovation Project Competition is one of the events of the Promotion Project Office, created on the initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to promote and commercialize promising scientific developments in the field of production of medicines, medical devices and digital medicine.
Startup rally is an effective tool for the development of innovative projects in the biomedical field.
The purpose of the Competition is to identify, select and promote the most promising scientific developments in the field of pharmacology, medicine and digital healthcare at different stages.
Objectives of the Contest:
- Assistance to promising projects in attracting financing;
- Training of project teams in business planning, assistance in preparing presentations for presentation to investors, obtaining marketing skills, training in interaction with strategic partners and investors;
- Initiating communication of project teams with key players in the pharmaceutical and biomedical industry.
Project teams (representatives of Russian innovative companies and organizations) interested in attracting financing and obtaining new skills are invited to participate in the Competition.
Applications are accepted from project teams at different stages of implementation – from preclinical studies to pre-registration activities and meeting the following requirements:
- innovation;
- technological feasibility;
- competent project team;
- investment attractiveness;
- high probability of industrial implementation.
Applications are accepted in the following areas:
- Medical devices (diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation)
- functional diagnostics;
- endoscopy and endoprosthetics;
- surgical instruments and equipment;
- rehabilitation products;
- x-ray equipment, MRI and accessories;
- telemedicine technology;
- disposable medical devices;
- optical medical devices;
- devices for emergency care (incubators, defibrillators, artificial lung ventilation);
- monitoring and visualization systems;
- simulation equipment;
- new medical materials;
- diagnostic systems and reagents (enzyme immunoassay, molecular biological methods).
Innovative pharmaceuticals:
- new molecules and pharmaceutical compositions;
- genetically engineered drugs and vaccines;
- biosimilars;
- immunobiological preparations and vaccines;
- products of cellular technologies;
- nanomedical technologies, targeted delivery of medicines.
Digital Medicine:
- wearable medical electronics;
- software for high-tech medical equipment;
- devices for health monitoring, fitness trackers, gadgets;
- IT solutions in medicine and healthcare, big data in medicine.
Stages of the competition:
- May 21 – July 01 - acceptance of applications for participation in the "Startup Rally 2018";
- July 2 – July 22 – interaction of participants (project teams) with experts; completion of presentations; examination and selection of projects for participation in the final;
- July 23 – July 31 – summing up the results of the examination, announcement of the finalists;
- August 01 – August 31 – online consulting and educational program for finalists; preparation of presentations by them to present projects to investors during the finals at the BIOTECHMED Conference in September 2018 in Gelendzhik;
- 01 – 10 September – provision of modified presentations;
- September 17 – 18 – the final event during the BIOTECHMED Conference: a pitch session of finalists and competitive selection; a solemn ceremony of awarding the best teams.
