Summer School of Bioinformatics – 2015
The Third Summer School of Bioinformatics invites students, postgraduates and young specialists of biological and technical specialties interested in bioinformatics and willing to develop in this field. The school will also be of interest to those who have already started to engage in bioinformatics projects. The working language of the school is Russian.
Venue and datesThe summer school will be held in a boarding house in the vicinity of Moscow from July 20 to 25.
The exact venue will be announced later.
The program is under development.
Main sections: bioinformatics for mathematicians and computer scientists (intensive courses in molecular biology, biotechnology, algorithms in bioinformatics)
- bioinformatics for biologists (intensive courses in programming, statistics, applied data analysis NGS and RNA-seq)
- general lectures from leading bioinformatics scientists
Classes are held in the format of lectures, intensive courses and seminars. Topics will include: NGS and RNA-seq data analysis, systems biology, genome and transcriptome assembly and analysis, metagenomics, epigenomics, molecular evolution, proteomics, bioinformatics business lectures, seminars on presentation skills and article preparation, and much more.
Presentation of the reportA one-day conference and poster session will be held within the framework of the school, where those participants who have already started to engage in bioinformatic projects will be able to speak.
A competitive selection of abstracts is carried out: they must be attached to the application for the school in the appropriate field. Abstracts will be published in the collection of reports of the summer school.
Scientific projectsFor those who want to fully immerse themselves in the field of bioinformatics, teamwork will be organized on real tasks.
The projects will be designed for different levels of participants, even beginners will have a chance to try their hand. The list of projects will be formed in June.
The Summer School is a non–profit project aimed at the development of Russian bioinformatics. We strive to make the school accessible and free for the best students and postgraduates of Russia and the CIS and will be glad to find new partners who are not indifferent to bioinformatics and the development of talented youth!
Terms of participationA competitive selection is being held, a total of 100 people will be selected for the school.
The school is held without a registration fee. The authors of the best applications will receive compensation for accommodation and included three meals a day (12 thousand rubles).
Acceptance of applications is open. To participate in the competitive selection, you must fill out a questionnaire by May 15.
