Four cans of vitamins for the price of a studio apartment.

Natalia Bazhenova, KP

- My dear, in two months you will talk to us differently. You will first lose sight, then hearing, kidneys, pancreas will fail… You will turn into a plant!

A metallic note sounded in the voice from the telephone receiver. Inna Borisovna's legs gave way, and she quietly sank onto a stool.

"Dear radio listeners!"And it all started with a simple broadcast on the radio.

- Dear radio listeners, today we have a visiting professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences. He will tell us how to properly take care of the vessels of the brain!

- Our drug is indispensable in the treatment and prevention…

76-year-old Inna Borisovna has had a buzz in her head from time to time for a long time.

- You have problems with blood vessels, - friends and acquaintances "diagnosed".

The professor on the radio was very convincing, and an elderly woman decided to dial the named phone in Moscow. Picking up the phone, Inna Borisovna had no idea how this call would end for her.

The drug cost 20 thousand, but the pensioner had money (she recently moved to Yaroslavl after the death of her sister and sold a one-room apartment in Chelyabinsk), and health is more expensive.

- Over the summer, I bought six packs from them: three for 20 thousand rubles and three more for 14," the woman recalls the beginning of her terrible story. – It was nice that someone is interested in me, someone cares about me.

They called Inna Borisovna constantly.

- They were interested in my health 10 times a day. Then one will check how I take the pills, then the other.

Diagnosis by phoneWhen talking to the next "inspector" Inna Borisovna accidentally mentioned: they say, she was at a doctor's appointment at the polyclinic the other day.

  Conducted a study of the cerebral vessels. And I saw terrible dark purple splashes on my arteries on the tomograph screen. Now he thinks: what a sudden illness!

- Apparently, you have something with the pituitary gland, - the capital's "doctor" immediately declared. – But you are lucky, my friend from the Institute of Human Health Professor Tsikhanovsky treats only rich and famous people. But I will say that you are my relative, and he will definitely help.

Half an hour later Inna Borisovna got a call back.

- Your pituitary gland is dying, - Professor Tsikhanovsky diagnosed over the phone.

They began to process the pensioner rapidly. Convincing a "dying" woman to buy a miracle cure was a matter of technique.

Two days later, a courier from Moscow brought Inna Borisovna the first batch of death pills – a bioactive additive "Maxilong-S" and a gel from seaweed "Okovidin-forte". The woman did not hesitate to give 420 thousand rubles for them, withdrawing money from the savings book. Two days later, the courier delivered the second batch – the supplement "Silicimag" and gel "Laminarin" for 600 thousand.

"It was like I was enchanted," Inna Borisovna recalls now.

A friend pulled her out of the clutches of deathThe million pulled out of the pensioner, Moscow scammers did not seem enough.

Another phone call rang in the apartment. Tsikhanovsky's "colleague", a certain Professor Miller from Sweden, undertook to convince the elderly woman. The consultant spoke in pure Russian! And Inna Borisovna, who has worked as a teacher of foreign languages all her life, for some reason did not bother at all. Hypnosis? Neuro-linguistic programming?

- I looked at your medical record, have you had any severe stresses in your life? – the first thing he asked. Miller did not specify which medical record he looked at. But the "experts" communicated with Inna Borisovna only by phone.

- Two years ago, my sister tragically died.

- Here! Miller exclaimed. – The cells in the brain react to stress in such a way that they gather in the so-called zone 25. This zone prevents medications from reaching the pituitary gland. Therefore, we need another drug that will break the zone.

For the fifth medicine, it was necessary to pay only ... a million rubles.

- Health is the most important thing, collect money from friends, - "well-wishers" inspired the victim. And they used the most terrible thing – a description of how slowly and painfully a woman would die without this fifth medicine.

Of course, after such words, a perfectly healthy person may feel unwell. And being sure of an imminent death, he will throw away his skates altogether. Inna Borisovna was in a stressful state for about two weeks. My head was spinning, the pressure was jumping like crazy.

Inna Borisovna was pulled out of the hands of death by a friend. She persuaded me to go to the clinic.

- The doctor advised to do a magnetic resonance imaging, - says the pensioner. – That's when I remembered that I had already done such a tomography about a month ago. I ran home, grabbed a piece of paper with a diagnosis, and it says: the pituitary gland is not changed…

Supplements for nails and hairSo what was sold for a million to a pensioner?

Bioactive additive "Maxilong-S" and seaweed gel "Okovidin-forte", dietary supplement "Silicimag" and gel "Laminarin".

To personally verify how much these ill-fated dietary supplements actually cost, we found the addresses of their manufacturers on the Internet. Dietary supplements "Maxilong-S" and "Silicimag" were on the list of drugs produced by a certain Moscow company "Biotika-S". By the way, another manufacturer is indicated on the bank of "Silicimag" - Tver. We call the phone number indicated on the website. We get into the company's online store. We are interested in the price of dietary supplements. A pleasant female voice answers:

- You can buy "Silicimag" for 550 rubles. "Maxilong" - for 650.

- Are these dietary supplements sold in pharmacies? I ask.

"No," she says. – You can order them from us. Cash on delivery transfer.

There were much more adventures with kelp gels "Laminarin" and "Okovidin-forte".

On the website of the Tver manufacturer, I found the phones of distributors - in Tver, Moscow and other cities. Yaroslavl is not among them. The first call was made, of course, to Tver. As it turned out, to the 5th city hospital.

- A jar of 500-gram gel "Laminarin" costs one thousand rubles. For pensioners – 850 rubles. But in the capital it is more expensive.

That's how it turns out! But what about the hundreds of thousands given by Inna Borisovna?!

Checking for "lice"We call the phone number indicated in the advertisement.

- How much does the gel cost? – the first and main question.

- What is your first name, patronymic, surname? – in response, a certain Victoria Andreevna, who introduced herself as a cardiologist, pours questions into the phone. – What's bothering you?

- I want to drink for prevention. The pressure is high, - I come up with on the go.

"Yeah," comes the shrill voice on the phone. – Of course, you need to be treated. And then, God forbid, he will have a stroke. After completing a 3-month course, you will forget about hypertension for 7 years. Four cans can be bought for only 26 thousand, - the doctor persuades.

- Thanks, I'll think about it, - I want to hang up.

- In Yaroslavl, probably, small salaries?! But I can give you a benefit – take 4 cans for 18 thousand.

The situation is beginning to amuse:

- I'll think about it.

"Then," the voice on the phone said firmly, "I'll put you in a separate group. Don't ask which one. "Laminarin" will cost you at a special price - 16 thousand.

- I'll think about it.

- I will provide benefits for large families, - the "cardiologist" does not let up. - Take it for 12 thousand rubles. Keep in mind that this medicine is sold out quickly. There will be no tomorrow.

... Inna Borisovna got a job as a janitor to pay off debts to friends – she not only gave her money, but also borrowed tens of thousands from friends. We appealed to the Department for combating Economic Crimes at the Department of Internal Affairs of the Yaroslavl region:

- This is a fraud on a particularly large scale. Inna Borisovna must write a statement. And we will deal with the scammers.

by the waySupplements are not a panacea
Biologically active additives (dietary supplements) are not medicine, but supplements.

  They contain what we lack with food - vitamins, macro- and microelements, amino acids, fatty acids and dietary fiber. Doctors recommend buying dietary supplements, necessarily requiring a certificate of conformity, which confirms that the supplement is safe.

The label of the right dietary supplements will definitely be:

  • the name of the company that produces it;
  • registration number with date indication;
  • the number of technical specifications (technical documentation that the dietary supplement must comply with);
  • seller's address, phone number;
  • date of manufacture, shelf life;
  • composition with indication of ingredients in descending order by weight or percentage;
  • recommendations for use;
  • information that the product IS NOT A MEDICINE.

What can cause suspicion?- A phone call from a person previously unknown to you

- The requirement to deposit, pay, give a certain amount of money
- Use of your personal information by strangers
- Unwillingness to answer the questions you have asked
- The desire to speak quickly and give out information that is incomprehensible to you
- You have a certain (often large) amount of money, which few people may know about.

What to do in such cases?It is necessary to put down the phone immediately.

If the contact has already been established, then try to ask more questions to the interlocutor. In fact, it is not profitable for him that you would knock down his speech. Ask personal questions. For example, "what's your name?", "what company are you calling from?", "repeat, I didn't hear you." You can just say that you have no time. Ask to call back later while you are thinking about making a decision. This way you will gain time and will be able to either consult with someone, or just call the police.

Unfortunately, there are hundreds and thousands of such stories. Because the system of distribution of dietary supplements itself allows scammers to infiltrate it. The case of a pensioner from Yaroslavl is terrifying, because the woman was divorced for a lot of money. But there are sellers of penny drugs for large sums in every city. This is a well-trained network of merchants aimed at pulling out your savings. There are many deceived buyers. There is only one way not to fall into the trap: to think before giving significant amounts to unknown people. And do not take the word of strangers who on the phone (!) diagnose you and offer a panacea for everything. Treat critically when unknown drugs are praised. And not to pay a lot of money for an incomprehensible jar with a suspicious label.

important!If you have been deceived for a large sum of money, urgently contact the Department for combating offenses in the consumer market or the department for combating economic crimes.

How else are old people deceived:Scammers come to elderly people's homes under the guise of social workers, locksmiths, gas workers, electricians ... help to recalculate the pension, and then, taking some of the money, they hide.

  1. The most common type of fraud is by phone. Usually scammers call the elderly: they say that your relatives are being held by the police, traffic police officers, and so on. Scammers ask for money for a "ransom".
  2. Scammers lure money under the guise of gypsies. Usually they come up on the street and start talking. The main trump card is "a damage has been inflicted on you, which must be removed immediately."  And that requires money.
