Winners of the Zvorykin Prize – 2011

The winners of the 2011 Zvorykin Prize have been announcedIA UNOVA Media

The winners of the 2011 Zvorykin Prize were named at the IV All-Russian Innovative Youth Convention in Moscow. The winners in the general nominations received grants – one million rubles each. The best in special nominations have the opportunity to become residents of the Skolkovo Innograd, and also receive the right to undergo a professional internship abroad, the organizers said.

Names of winners in special nominations:

  • Nuclear Technologies: Sergey Kulikov (Dubna) with the project "Creation of a cold ball neutron moderator at the IBR–2M pulsed fast reactor for the study of nanomaterials and condensed media";
  • Space technologies and telecommunications: Andrey Zlatov (St. Petersburg) - "A system for increasing the capacity of fiber–optic communication lines based on holographic spectral compaction technology";
  • Medical technologies and pharmaceuticals: Valery Ilyinsky (Moscow) – "Mobile DNA diagnostics";
  • Computer technologies and programs: Yuri Solyaev (Moscow) – "Nanocomposite software package – engineering analysis of physical and mechanical properties of composite materials with nanoscale fillers";
  • Energy efficiency and resource conservation: Mikhail Smirnov (Moscow) – "Hedgehogs made of microsilicated graphite and carbon tubes – "nanocolutes".

In general nominations:

  • The best innovative idea: Diana Tazetdinova (Kazan) with the project "Microbial preparation for the production of biofertilizers and biopesticides";
  • The best innovative project: Alexander Kostevich (Moscow) – "IRA Technology. Wireless charger";
  • The best innovative product: Maxim Kamanin (Astrakhan) – "Interactive screenless display DisplAir".

The award ceremony was attended by Igor Agamirzyan, CEO of the Russian Venture Company, Peter Vesterbaka, Head of Marketing at Rovio, George Whitesides, head of Virgin Galactic, Sergey Belousov, senior partner of the Runa Capital venture fund, and Bill Tai, a startup investor with more than 20 years of experience.

"This year, more than 800 young innovators from almost all regions of the country took part in the Zvorykin Prize competition. Which indicates the fierce competition in which the selection of laureates takes place," said Sergey Blintsov, the head of the Zvorykin project. – Despite the competitive nature of the contest, it should be noted that each participant, regardless of the result, did not lose. The participants of the Zvorykin Prize are young people who strive to change their own destiny, and maybe improve the life of the whole country and even the whole world."
