The National Council for Professional Qualifications under the President of the Russian Federation, headed by the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, approved 10 professional standards for the nanoindustry:

  1. Specialist in measuring parameters and modifying properties of nanomaterials and nanostructures;
  2. Specialist in the design and maintenance of clean production facilities for micro- and nanoelectronic industries;
  3. Specialist in technical support of technological processes for the production of quantum electronics and photonics devices;
  4. Specialist in shaping products made of nanostructured ceramic masses;
  5. Specialist in the production of nanostructured polymer materials;
  6. Specialist in the preparation and operation of equipment for the production of nanostructured polymer materials;
  7. Specialist in the development of nanostructured composite materials;
  8. Specialist in the design of products made of nanostructured composite materials;
  9. Specialist in the production of fibrous nanostructured composite materials;
  10. Specialist in providing comprehensive control of the production of nanostructured composite materials..

The drafts of these standards were developed with the participation of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs and recommended for approval by the Working Group on Professional Standards of the National Council. Information about them will be entered into the register of professional standards of the Russian Federation, which is maintained by the Ministry of Labor of Russia.

More than 200 people took part in the development and examination of professional standards – representatives of more than 65 enterprises, 18 higher educational institutions and 9 research institutes with pilot production.

In 2012-2014, the Foundation for Infrastructure and Educational Programs developed twenty-four professional standards in the field of nanoelectronics, nanomaterials and metrology, which were unanimously approved by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), the Expert Council of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation and the National Council for Professional Qualifications under the President of the Russian Federation. Information about professional standards for the nanoindustry is included in the National Register of Professional Standards and the Register of Professional Standards of the Intersectoral Association of Nanoindustry.

The approved professional standards are currently used to evaluate and certify the qualifications of specialists of enterprises and graduates of partner universities, to create modular programs for professional training and retraining of specialists of nanoindustry enterprises and to develop educational resources in the e-learning format for self-training of nanoindustry specialists.

Currently, the Foundation is developing 10 more professional standards related to nanomaterials, nanoelectronics and nanoproduct testing activities.
