At the same time, SPARC is a non-profit project designed to supply low-income patients with chronic diseases with medical marijuana at low prices. In addition to traditional forms of medicine – dried inflorescences for smoking and extracts for ingestion – the store offers culinary products with marijuana and cannabis seedlings. You can make a purchase only with a doctor's prescription.
Marijuana in SPARC is sold in dark glass pharmacy bottles with designer labels, its storage is carried out in wooden boxes fixed along one wall, as was customary in ancient pharmacies. The price list is displayed on liquid crystal screens. The furniture is made of local oak, the lamps are made of laboratory borosilicate glass.
The design of the store's facade is based on the picture obtained by sequencing (sequence analysis) Cannabis DNA. The facade itself is made of glass, which, according to Pearson, should symbolize the transparency and legality of the use of medical marijuana.
Currently, the medical use of cannabis is allowed in 15 American states and the Metropolitan District of Columbia. The volume of its sales is approaching the same indicator of another "pharmaceutical bestseller" – "Viagra". According to experts, by 2016, the use of cannabis drugs can be legalized in 20 more states, and its sales will reach $ 8.9 billion per year.
