In some countries of our planet, including ours, medicines against human aging are being actively developed. In particular, I want to report very good news in the science of aging. Do you know why until now science has been so slow in inventing drugs for aging and has not made a huge breakthrough in this field for a long time? And everything is simple. In order to study a cure for old age in humans, aging must be recognized as a disease that needs and can be treated. In gerontology, human aging has long been recognized as a disease. But the situation is different in medicine. In the medical classification of diseases, aging as a disease is absent. And if there is no such disease, then it is simply impossible to conduct clinical trials on humans according to the law. What to do? That was the dead end. I had to test drugs on animals and indirectly on humans.

But finally, the US Food and Drug Administration has recognized that it is much more effective to treat aging itself than each age-dependent disease separately. And I finally decided to test the hypothesis that aging is a disease. So in 2015, for the first time in the history of medicine, metformin, which has long been known in gerontology, but not in medicine, as a cure for old age, decided to try to test it in a clinical trial specifically for the treatment of aging in the elderly. And if the experiment is successful, and few doubt its success, then old age will be officially recognized by medicine as a disease that can be treated.

But in Russia, unfortunately, no one recognized old age as a disease. But among other things, the symptoms of old age include progressive atrophy of the body, a decrease in adaptive abilities and immunity of the body, and over time – disability and death of a person in the region of 80-100 years.

The average life expectancy of a person in the Russian Federation is 71 years (women live on average 77 years, men 65, which is also one of the main problems of our country), while in Europe and the United States, the average life expectancy has already exceeded 80 years, and in Japan – 90 years. Physiologist Pavlov once said that any death before the age of 150 should be considered violent. Considering the facts described above, the average life expectancy in the Russian Federation is very low – people practically have no chance of living even to half of the 150-year term, and in general, in any country in the world, any person, living at least to 70-80 years, turns into a wreck, and gerontologists of all countries have long recognized old age as a disease. Maybe it's time in the Russian Federation to recognize old age as a disease at the medical level?

Practical result

The possibility of human testing of metformin and other medicines designed to combat aging of the body, it is possible in the future to introduce into the masses certain types of drugs and medicines designed to rejuvenate the body, which will lead to an increase in average life expectancy to 100-120 years or more.

Decision
