A laboratory of pharmaceutical technologies is being opened at Vyatka State University. It was created by Rusnano's portfolio company Nanolek, operating in the region, in order to train employees for its biomedical complex.
The laboratory equipment is designed for all stages of the development and production of biological products: cultivation of producer strains in a laboratory bioreactor, isolation and purification of the target protein by ultrasonic disintegration, centrifugation, electrophoresis and chromatography, and the production of finished dosage forms of drugs. The equipment of the laboratory allows you to control the quality of drugs at all stages – microscopes, spectrophotometers, tablet analyzer, etc. are used for this.
The total amount of investments of Nanolek LLC in personnel training at Vyatka State University has already amounted to more than 8 million rubles. Thus, in August 2015, the university launched a professional retraining program "Development of immunobiological drugs and technologies for their production", prepared by order of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs of Rusnano and Nanolek. Her listeners were both current specialists of the enterprise and graduates of the university in 2015, who studied in the specialty "Biotechnology". The program uses, among other things, electronic training modules – this allows you to effectively train specialists already working at the enterprise.
Cooperation between VyatSU and Nanolek began even before the launch of production: biotechnologies have become one of the priorities in the work of the university. The university has created an appropriate infrastructure, which includes educational laboratories of two departments, two scientific and educational centers: "Nanotechnology" and "Bioengineering" - and several specialized laboratories, including a laboratory of the physiology of microorganisms jointly with the Institute of Physiology of the Komi Scientific Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 2014, the recruitment for a new training profile – "Pharmaceutical Biotechnology" was opened.
