Fake medicines and dietary supplements: members of the organized criminal group will be judged

During the investigation, it was found that the accused, using a database of citizens who had previously purchased dietary supplements, called customers' phones and, posing as employees of medical centers or law enforcement officers, assured citizens that large monetary compensation was paid for the dietary supplements they bought. But to get it, you need to pay insurance premiums and taxes. The scammers offered several forms of payment for "insurance" and "taxes": settlement accounts in various branches of a Savings Bank in Moscow, postal transfers, etc.

The clients of the accused were pensioners, residents of Moscow, the Moscow region and other regions of Russia. The amount of promised "compensation" ranged from 150 thousand to 500 thousand rubles. In two months, more than 20 million rubles were transferred to the fraudsters' accounts. About 1,000 people aged 55 to 90 are victims of a criminal case.

It took less than a month for the investigators of the GSU at the Moscow police Department and the employees of the UBEP of the Moscow police Department to clarify all the circumstances of the commission of this crime and identify the perpetrators.

Currently, all participants of the organized criminal group have been charged, and a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen against 17 accused.

The main organizer of the criminal group – one of the current lawyers of the bar association "Union of Moscow Lawyers" – was arrested. The materials in relation to him were transferred to the SO for the Southern Administrative District of the SU IC at the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation in Moscow.
