biotechnological and medical organizations
The Novosibirsk Academic Park hosted the first meeting of members of the non-profit partnership "Center for the Development of Biotechnology and Medicine "SibBioMed". The meeting was attended by representatives of innovative companies of the Academic Park, institutes of the SB RAS and SB RAMS, medical technopark, specialized universities and the Government of the Novosibirsk region.
At the meeting, Dmitry Verkhovod, General Director of the Academic Park, noted that the residents of the Technopark are a small fraction of the entire community: "The biomedical cluster of the Academic Park is a platform that we are always happy to provide and provide you with maximum assistance in unification and development. We think that this community will be very important for interaction with the state, participation in government support programs."
Maria Galyamova, one of the initiators of the partnership, Director of the Biotechnology and biomedicine cluster of the Academic Park, spoke about the goals and objectives of the newly created association: "Our goals are to combine all the existing contacts, competencies and resources of the participants for the implementation of joint projects, successful investment attraction, a built dialogue with regional and federal authorities and, ultimately, for successful development of the region". In addition, in her opinion, representatives of the community face two important challenges from the point of view of the development of the territory – the launch of the Novosibirsk agglomeration project and the reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is necessary that the opinion of the biomedical community of the Novosibirsk region be taken into account when solving these issues, M. Galyamova is sure.
Among the important tasks of SIBBIOMED is the formation of an order for training personnel for the industry. According to Mikhail Losev, director of the Medico-Biological Union company, at this stage we need personnel who speak not only the language of science, but also the new economy. The development of programs for the training of such specialists is carried out by the Interuniversity Engineering Master's Degree in the Academic Park. Igor Marinkin, Rector of Novosibirsk State Medical University, also expressed his interest in training talented students for high-tech industries. Novosibirsk State University is also planning to take an active part in the work of the partnership.
In turn, Deputy Minister of Science, Education and Innovation Policy of the Novosibirsk Region Elena Zhitenko expressed confidence that the association of major industry players will contribute to the development of the regional innovation cluster of information and biopharmaceutical technologies.
At the moment, the membership of the non-profit partnership is being formed, the next meeting of which will be held in the first half of February.
The initiators of the creation of the NP "Center for the Development of Biotechnology and Medicine "SibBioMed" were the cluster of biotechnologies and biomedicine of the Academic Park, the Medico-Biological Union company, the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine SB RAS, the Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS, the Institute of Clinical Immunology SB RAMS, the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biophysics SB RAMS, the company "Sibbiopharm" and "Biosan"
