The maniac was found on DNA databases

In the USA, thanks to genetic research, a serial killer was caught
<url>In the American city of Milwaukee (Milwaukee), Wisconsin, on Monday, September 7, a serial killer was arrested, involved in at least nine murders of women committed between 1986 and 2007. 49-year-old Walter Ellis (Walter E. Ellis) was found by police after examining DNA found on the bodies killed, CNN reports.

As explained to CNN in the Milwaukee Police Department, DNA studies have established that two murders of prostitutes were committed by one person. After that, the police raised about 16 thousand criminal cases related to sexual crimes, and if DNA samples of a possible killer were among the evidence, they compared them with the national data bank, which contains information about the DNA of six million people.

As a result, Walter Ellis' DNA samples were found on the bodies of nine victims. Eight of them were black prostitutes, and one, as stated by the police, turned out to be a runaway girl who was engaged in drug trafficking. The corresponding murder charges will soon be brought against Ellis.

Also, according to the Associated Press, a large-scale DNA study conducted as part of the Ellis case allowed investigators to advance in the investigation of 10 more murders committed by other people.
