Elena Zhukova, oncologist and head of the Mammology Center, explained what directly affects the start of a dangerous process.For example, breast cancer in recent years has been detected more often in young women.
First of all, factors such as living in megacities play a role, Elena Zhukova emphasized in her interview.
Exhaust gases from cars, sedentary lifestyle, poor nutrition "on the run", high and "nervous" rhythm of life give a chronic stress load.
"All of us have high levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, which pulls other stress hormones - adrenaline, noradrenaline, estrogen (female sex hormone) levels increase. All of this increases the risk of getting breast cancer at a young age," explained the oncologist.
The doctor urged after 35-40 years of age to undergo a mammogram - the procedure makes it possible not only to suspect a dangerous disease, but also to find the area where there is a high probability of cancer.
"And we start examining that area. Therefore, mammography is mandatory," once again noted the specialist.
Earlier, surgeon of the highest category Elena Solovyova warned that a sedentary lifestyle and lack of physical activity is much more dangerous than it may seem - without exercise, the risk of certain types of cancer increases.
