Young scientists will receive grants from the President
On February 8, 2011, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation identified 460 winners of competitions for the right to receive grants from the President of Russia for state support of young Russian scientists - candidates of sciences and young Russian scientists - doctors of sciences.
The competition was announced in November 2010. Young people (up to 35 years old) could participate in the competition Russian scientists - candidates of sciences and young (up to 40 years old) Russian scientists are doctors of sciences. Grants are allocated in the amount of 1 million rubles each for young Russian scientists - doctors of sciences (60 grants) and in the amount of 600 thousand rubles each for young Russian scientists - candidates of sciences (400 grants) for a 2-year period to finance the costs of conducting fundamental and applied scientific research in priority areas of science, technology and technicians of the Russian Federation.
The winners were determined in the following fields of knowledge: mathematics and mechanics; physics and astronomy; chemistry, new materials and chemical technologies; biology, agricultural sciences and technologies of living systems; Earth sciences, ecology and environmental management; social sciences and humanities; medicine; technical and engineering sciences; information and telecommunication systems and technologies. The criteria for the expert evaluation of the works were the scientific reserve for the claimed research over the past 3 years, the planned activity of the scientific activity of the grant applicant, the evaluation of scientific research, including novelty and applied significance, the achievability of the results of scientific research.

The decision of the Competition Commission on holding competitions for the right to receive grants from the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists and funds for state support of leading scientific schools of the Russian Federation is the basis for the conclusion of agreements by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation on the terms of use of the grant with organizations that have labor relations with young scientists, whose works were submitted by these organizations to the competition and became winners.
The agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the organization is accompanied by an agreement between this organization and a young scientist defining the obligations of a young scientist to conduct scientific research in accordance with the calendar plan and terms of reference, as well as to submit, at the end of the next stage of scientific research, reports on the expenditure of funds (financial reports), scientific reports, as well as other obligations related to using a grant.
The amount of the grant of a young scientist - doctor of sciences is 1 million rubles per year, including payment for his work and the work of co-executors. The number of co-executors should include at least 3 young scientists (up to 35 years old), students, postgraduates. The amount of remuneration of the Doctor of Sciences and his co-executors may not exceed 600 thousand rubles per year.
The amount of the grant of a young scientist - candidate of sciences is 600 thousand rubles per year, including payment for his work and the work of co-executors. The number of co-executors should include at least 1 young scientist (up to 35 years old), a student, a graduate student. The amount of remuneration of the Candidate of Sciences and his co-executors may not exceed 360 thousand rubles per year.
