Russia's largest innovation forum will open in Moscow on October 26<url>
The IV International Forum on Nanotechnology RUSNANOTECH 2011 will open on October 26, 2011 in Moscow.
The Forum is a global platform for discussing issues of innovative development and creation of the nanoindustry in Russia.
The RUSNANOTECH Forum is one of the central events of the year in the field of innovation in Russia. Traditionally, the guests of the event are leading politicians and scientists, heads of the largest domestic and foreign companies. The Forum focuses on the main trends in global scientific and technological development and best practices in the commercialization of innovative developments.
This year, the main topic of the Forum will be the demand for innovation. Its participants will discuss the prospects of using nanotechnology in a wide range of industries – from construction and mechanical engineering to electronics and pharmaceuticals.
It is planned that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will speak at the plenary session of the forum, as well as visit the exhibition. RusnanotechExpo-2011, according to the website of the Russian Venture Company.
Then, within the framework of the forum, a meeting of the Commission under the President of the Russian Federation on Modernization and Technological Development of the Russian economy will be held, which will be devoted to the tasks of development institutions and the formation of demand for innovative developments and products.
As Presidential aide Arkady Dvorkovich said at a briefing, it is necessary to focus on the needs of people and society in this work. "The main goal is to show that this is not done for the sake of creating a business, but in order to improve the quality of people's lives."
"The main task of development institutions is to stimulate companies through existing tools so that they are more focused on people's needs," agreed Igor Agamirzyan, CEO of Russian Venture Company OJSC.
Within the framework of the forum, a solemn presentation of the RUSNANOPRIZE International Award in the field of nanotechnology will take place. The prize is awarded annually for scientific and technological developments, inventions and their introduction into mass production in one of the areas: nanoelectronics, nanobiotechnology, nanomaterials, nanodiagnostics. RUSNANOPRIZE 2011 will be awarded for works in the direction of "Nanomaterials".
The Forum will also host an award ceremony for the winners of the Russian Youth Award in the field of Nanoindustry and an international competition of scientific papers of young scientists in the field of nanotechnology.
For the first time, a "Project Fair" will be organized at the RUSNANOTECH Forum. As part of this event, everyone will have the opportunity to present their innovative business projects to a special commission consisting of representatives of the Russian National Association of Business Angels and the Russian Venture Investment Association.
All three days of the Forum's work, the best popular science films of the American Discovery channel will be shown non-stop to its visitors.
