Men and women react differently to casual relationships

Scientists at Durham University, working under the guidance of Professor Anne Campbell, argue that their results indicate that single sexual relationships do not have an evolutionary advantage for women.

The survey involved 1,700 people who had casual sexual relations. While almost all men felt more significant, sexually satisfied and confident after meaningless sexual relations, almost half of women felt disappointed and experienced the feeling that they were taken advantage of. Some women noted that the reason for the connection was the hope for the possibility of a longer relationship.

From an evolutionary point of view, a woman bears the main burden of caring for children, and it is generally accepted that a woman should carefully choose a partner and remain faithful to him so that the partner has no reason to suspect that he is raising another man's child.

Recently, biologists have suggested that a relationship with a large number of men may have some benefit for a woman, because this will increase the genetic diversity of her children and, if she does not manage to maintain a relationship with a "high-quality" man forever, he will at least leave good genes to children.

However, the authors believe that if women were created for one-time relationships, they would get more pleasure from them. They claim that our basic emotions indicate what was favorable for our ancestors.
