Deep Dive Program in Silicon Valley
(March 11-13, 2011 – Moscow; March 17-27 – Palo Alto, California, USA)

Surprises from the organizers: This year iCamp will become international. All participants will be divided into three streams, each of which has its own educational program. Presumably, these streams will be: "startups", "early growth companies" and "established businesses".

Last year, the boarding house of the Moscow region "Solnechnaya Polyana" gathered more than 800 participants and almost two dozen speakers from all over Russia.

Business Forum Yees!-2011
(May 17-18, Moscow; June 10 – Las Vegas)

Participants: entrepreneurs, startups, investors, politicians, public figures and cultural figures.

Surprises from the organizers: "As for innovations," comments Vyacheslav Burov, a member of the organizing committee, "this year there will most likely be an interactive using augmented reality at the event (most likely at a buffet or reception)."

Software People Conference 2011

National Congress of Business Angels of Russia
(April 2011, Academy of National Economy, Moscow)

Participants: the largest experts in the field of venture capital market, business angels. Specially invited experts will be Anatoly Chubais (Russian Nanotechnology Corporation), Igor Agamirzyan (RVC), Andrey Fursenko, Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of the RAVI and the Skolkovo Foundation.

Surprises of the organizers: "We plan to dedicate several events this year to those who are going to create angel networks," says Konstantin Fokin, president of the Russian Association of Business Angels, "we want invited Western angels to share their experience with Russian colleagues." It is also planned to hold a special block dedicated to nanotechnology during the congress. The number of participants of the II National Congress of Business Angels exceeded 200 people.

Shift "Innovation and technical creativity-2011" at Seliger
(July 2011, Seliger, Tver region)

Surprises of the organizers: this year, participants will be able to visit various educational blocks in 5 thematic areas:

1) Project development: everything from preparing a business plan to financial management and conducting effective negotiations;
2) Intellectual property protection;
3) Attracting investments, grandees, innovation development institutes in Russia;
4) Commercialization of innovative projects;
5) Lectures on five priority areas of modernization of the Russian economy.

Last year, 30 shift participants received 1 million rubles each from the Fund for Assistance to the Development of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere, two projects with a total funding of 179 million rubles received investments from JSC Technopark Sistema - Sarov. Another 50 projects were selected for examination with the intention to invest in them.

Russian Venture Fair
(November 23-24, 2011, Saint Petersburg)

Participants: more than 200 investors, private equity fund managers, venture capitalists, investment bankers, lawyers and consultants.

Surprises from the organizers: a special feature of the venture fair is the exposition of small and medium–sized companies in the high-tech sector of the economy. "This year, 40 innovative companies interested in raising capital for the development of their business will present their business at the stands," says Elena Antonova from the RAVI information service. This year, with the participation of leading teachers of Babson College, it is planned to hold a Lecture for innovative entrepreneurs.

Last year, 13% of participating companies raised capital to develop their business. According to Elena Antonova, these figures are much higher than the same indicator of foreign events.

IV International Forum on Nanotechnology "Rosnanotech"
(end of October 2011, Expocentre Fairgrounds Moscow)

Participants: scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, financiers, representatives of federal and regional authorities.

Surprises from the organizers: "The work plan of the scientific and technological part of the forum is being discussed now. We are talking about four areas: electronics and photonics, chemistry and materials science, living systems and green nano," says Sergey Filippov (Rusnano), "each area will be divided into several congress sections."
