Human Frontier Science Program Scholarships for PhD candidates

The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) offers two scholarship programs for advanced training in the framework of fundamental transnational and interdisciplinary research in the field of life sciences. The proposed scholarship programs will allow scientists with a PhD degree to carry out research in a new scientific field for themselves.

The scholarship program of Long-Term Research (Long-Term Fellowships) is aimed at applicants with a PhD degree in biology who, based on their existing scientific experience, would like to discover new research areas.

The interdisciplinary scholarship program (Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships) is addressed to researchers with a PhD degree in other scientific fields: physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, who, however, have limited knowledge in the field of biology.

The academic degree of potential applicants must be obtained by them no earlier than September 1, 2006, but no later than December 2010.

Both scholarship programs offer financial support for three years to work abroad and then return home.
