Molbiologists are expected in Lyon

Merieux research grants 2015 in the field of molecular biology

The Lyon Research Institute of Molecular Biology (Merieux Institute) invites biologists working on innovative projects in the field of infectious, oncological and cardiovascular diseases, water and food safety to participate in the 2015 Merieux research grants competition.

Grants of up to €200,000 are allocated for two years to researchers from any country in the world working in academic or private research institutions. The advantage in the competitive selection will be enjoyed by projects carried out by individual researchers. Projects implemented jointly by two scientists can be considered, but they will not be given priority. In this case, the grant funds will be transferred to the account of the institution where the main contractor of the project is employed.

The Merrier grant can be used by grantees to purchase consumables, cover transportation costs or pay salaries.

The program provides two types of grants: for financing innovative projects with obvious prospects (Advanced Research Grants) and start-up projects, the feasibility of which is not yet obvious (Starting Research Grants). Projects of the first type can apply for two-year funding in the amount of €100,000 to €200,000, grants of €40,000 are allocated for projects of the second type for two years.

In addition to the official information about the project executor, a brief (up to 7 pages of text) description must be attached to the application.

Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until September 24, 2015.

Full information about the application for participation in the competition is published on the website of the Institute a.
