Small Finnish-Russian innovations: the third collection of proposals

Competition of proposals for joint projects
Russian and Finnish small innovative enterprises

Finland and Russia announce the beginning of the third collection of proposals for joint projects in the field of applied research and innovation for Russian and Finnish small innovative companies. Proposals from participants should include the development of new types of products or technologies in all scientific and technological areas, and should demonstrate the innovative component of the proposal, as well as the ability to commercialize.

The main goal of this initiative is to generate projects with the participation of small enterprises from both countries, followed by the provision of funding for R&D by the relevant funding organizations: the Finnish Agency for Technology and Innovation Financing Tekes, which will finance Finnish small and medium-sized enterprises, and the Fund for the Promotion of Small Forms of Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Field, which will finance Russian small innovative companies.

The collection of proposals is carried out within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement signed on January 26, 2011 between Tekes and the Assistance Fund.

The project should demonstrate the visible advantages and added value resulting from the cooperation of small companies of the two countries (commercial benefits, access to research infrastructure, etc.).

The project should demonstrate a tangible contribution from participants from both countries (the work should be distributed among the applicants).

Proposals for joint projects should take into account that financing for them can be started no earlier than July 1, 2014. The duration of the work should be from 18 to 24 months.

Participants are invited to submit their joint proposals/applications for R&D and innovation projects by January 15, 2014. For those joint projects that will be approved by the Assistance Fund and Tekes as interesting for support, the start of financing is envisaged from July 2014.
