Zvorykin Prize – 2011

The Organizing Committee of the Zvorykinsky project announced the start of accepting applications for the All-Russian competition of Youth Innovative Projects for the award of the Innovation Award named after Zvorykina ("Zvorykinskaya Prize"). The most promising innovative projects participating in the competition will receive the support of private investors and companies financing innovative developments. The winners of the competition will receive cash prizes and the opportunity to become residents of the Skolkovo Innovation Center.

The selection of projects will take place at the unified federal level through a multi-stage examination. At the first stage, the innovative development will be evaluated according to general parameters. At the second stage, a technological examination of the project will be carried out. On the third – investment, and on the fourth – the final selection of the best projects.

"This year, the rules for the participation of projects in the Zvorykin Prize are fundamentally different from previous years. Due to the active development of innovation infrastructure in Russia, the emergence of a large number of regional and industry competitions and tournaments, innovators who are very active receive advantages in the Zvorykin Prize competition. Now the project can receive additional points, except those awarded to it by experts, if it has become a semi-finalist or finalist of other competitions and tournaments, or it will be recommended by the partners of the Zvorykin project: universities, business incubators and technology parks, investment funds and management companies and other partners," said Sergey Blintsov, head of the Zvorykin project.

The experts of the "Zvorykin Prize" this year will be members of the Councils of Young Scientists of Russia, researchers, inventors, innovative managers, experts in various fields of science, technology, well-known scientists, representatives of large Russian companies, venture funds, innovative firms and other organizations, as well as authoritative experts in the field of economic expertise and financing organization innovative projects.

Citizens of the Russian Federation aged from 14 to 30 years and young scientists under the age of 35 who are authors of innovative projects can become participants of the competition for the "Zvorykin Prize". To do this, the innovator must submit an application on the website of the Zvorykin project. The applicant independently determines the type of his project: idea, project or product and chooses which of the special nominations the submitted project belongs to.

Since 2010, the winners of the "Zvorykin Prize" are determined by eight nominations: three general –

  • the best innovative idea,
  • the best innovative project,
  • the best innovative product,

and also in five special areas identified as priorities by the Commission under the President of the Russian Federation on Modernization and Technological Development of the Russian Economy, namely:

  • energy efficiency and resource conservation,
  • nuclear technologies,
  • space technologies and telecommunications,
  • medical technologies and pharmaceuticals,
  • computer technologies and programs.

The Zvorykin Prize is an all–Russian competition in the field of innovation, which has been held annually since 2008. It is part of the "Zvorykin Project" – a priority program of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation aimed at finding and selecting innovative projects of young scientists. The project is named after Vladimir Zvorykin, a Russian inventor known worldwide as one of the authors of television and electronic optical devices.

The Zvorykin Prize is awarded at the end of the year at the All-Russian Youth Innovation Convention.
