In Bolivia, urine therapy killed a woman

Grigory Maslov, Infox.ruIn Bolivia, a woman died after a course of urine therapy – an unconventional method of healing, implying the use of her own urine for medicinal purposes.

A 35−year-old Bolivian woman died after an intravenous injection of urine. Monica Schultz, a well-known fashion designer in Bolivia, turned out to be a folk healer, she denies her guilt. The prosecutor's office has already issued an arrest warrant, the Associated Press reports.

The investigator in this case, Oscar Flores, said that 35−year-old Gabriela Askarrunts died last Saturday due to "an infection caused by an intravenous injection of urine, which was made by designer Monica Schultz." Local media write that Schultz has been practicing the use of urine for medicinal purposes for a long time. In particular, the woman used it as a cosmetic and treated a variety of diseases (how successfully is not reported).

Schultz, who is in the USA (where she advertises a new collection of clothes), hastened to declare her innocence. "The accusations took me by surprise, but I feel obliged to declare that I am innocent," the suspect's email sent to the editorial office of the ATB TV company says.

A deadly experienceMeanwhile, the origin of the urine that caused the woman's death remains unclear.

It is also not reported whether this urine intake was the first for Askarrunts (she was a veterinarian by profession) or not.

According to the director of the hospital where the Bolivian woman spent her last days, she was treated for intestinal obstruction. Last Thursday, her condition deteriorated to such a severe condition that surgical intervention became impossible. It is assumed that the woman who was on the verge of death agreed to inject a sufficiently large (how much is unknown) dose of urine into the vein.

After that, her condition worsened even more. Father Askarrunts found out about the healing of his daughter's friend and immediately kicked her out of the hospital. However, it was too late.

"She began to smell of incense"In Russia, the main propagandist of urine therapy is considered to be a folk healer and TV presenter Gennady Malakhov.

On this topic, he wrote several books in which he gave detailed recommendations on the therapeutic intake of his own urine. According to Malakhov, only the urine is suitable for treatment that meets several requirements: it should be fresh own urine at room temperature without any additional additives.

The healer distinguishes between external (skin lubrication and the like) and internal therapy. In addition, Malakhov allows the use of evaporated urine as a perfume. "She smells great… it smells like lipstick or expensive perfume," the TV presenter said on one of his programs.

At the same time, official science does not recognize urine as an effective therapeutic agent. Neither internal nor external therapy is approved: if urine gets into the blood, it can cause infection and gangrene
