ASI has launched a new analytical map

The tool has received a simpler and more user-friendly interface, an updated database of statistical data and opportunities for their comparison.

The Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the Promotion of New Projects (ASI) has published on the investment portal of the regions of Russia a revised tool for comparing regions – an analytical map.

The new version of the map features a simplified scheme for managing information layers and comparing regions. For convenience and greater clarity of comparison, a table appeared under the map, including the main socio-economic indicators.

"Initially, we wanted to make a very powerful analytical tool based on the map with the maximum set of functions, options for providing information and a huge database of statistics. We succeeded, but there was no question of usability. The overloaded interface scared off even those users who were interested in the map's capabilities. We had to sacrifice some functions and indicators, but in the end we got a design that almost everyone can understand," said Anton Moskalenkov, head of the ASI International Department.

The analytical map contains the latest available statistical information for all regions of Russia – 60 indicators based on information from Rosstat, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and regional executive authorities in the groups "Regional Economy", "Business and Trade", "Population and quality of life", "Education and Science", as well as "Infrastructure and Communications". Separately, you can add regional infrastructure objects – ports, airports and railways - to view on the map. The set and content of indicators are updated regularly.

Filters allow you to select regions suitable for certain criteria for further analysis.

An expanded version of the comparison table will soon be available to users for analyzing numbers without linking to a map.
