The visit of the trade delegation was organized by EVCA and the Global Innovation Partnership (GIP) forum with the participation of the Russian Venture Investment Association (RAVI) and the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan. The GIP Forum is a series of joint events organized by JSC RUSNANO, JSC Russian Venture Company, the Skolkovo Foundation ("Foundation for the Development of the Center for the Development and Commercialization of New Technologies"), and the Global Technology Symposium (Global Technology Symposium – GTS).

"The Forum continues the tradition of inviting venture investors from world economic centers to Russia. After the visits of delegations of leading Silicon Valley funds to Moscow in 2010, RUSNANO and a number of Russian industrial companies and private investors established regular business relations with them. As a result, the volume of joint projects in such areas as alternative energy, medicine and industrial biotechnologies under consideration at RUSNANO exceeds one billion dollars," said Mikhail Chuchkevich, Senior Adviser to the Chairman of the Management Board of RUSNANO.

"Russia is becoming a full-fledged player in the global venture capital markets today. Russian companies are strategic investors in a number of major international innovation projects. This visit is a continuation of the dialogue with the European venture business, which began several years ago. And this is a good opportunity for our European partners to see Russia's innovative economy up close. The experience of Europe is able to give impetus to the development of a number of Russian innovative projects, so I am sure that the meeting of representatives of the venture capital industry, innovative business, scientists, development institutes is a field for interaction and for the speedy acquisition of these impulses," said Evgeny Kuznetsov, Director of the Development and Communications Department of JSC Russian Venture Company.

"We support all investors in the field of high technologies, without making a difference between domestic and foreign investment resources. If an investor is set up for global success, then the nature of this success is obviously international. We are looking forward to meeting with our business partners, with our strategic partner - Europe. We will show our European colleagues the most promising startups, the creators of which have already proven their ability to achieve success. We also have absolutely new projects that have a great chance of success," said Alexey Sitnikov, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Skolkovo Foundation.
