Viktor Vekselberg, President of the Skolkovo Foundation, speaking on September 17, 2013 in Boston at the opening ceremony of Russian Innovation Week (RIW), said that the forum that is taking place these days in the United States is a great opportunity to show our results.

"This is an opportunity to get feedback from the innovation community. Such a communication platform is necessary for investors, as there are important components here: information openness and transparency, and most importantly, the opportunity to earn money."

The President of the Foundation recalled that 36 resident companies of the Skolkovo Foundation participate in Russian Innovation Week, meet with partners and investors. "The results of RIW 2013 will be new investments in development," he said. "Let the companies of the development institutes – the Skolkovo Foundation, Rusnano and RVC - take their first steps in the American market, but these are very important and, I am convinced, successful initiatives, the results of which we will learn in the very near future."

In an interview with RIA Novosti correspondent in the USA, Viktor Vekselberg also said that the amount of investments in the Skolkovo project received by participating companies from accredited investors tripled in eight months of this year to 1.126 billion rubles. According to him, for the same period of 2012, this figure was 353 million rubles.

"The dynamics of the implementation of the Skolkovo project inspires optimism," Viktor Vekselberg said. According to a survey conducted among accredited investors, the chances of participating companies to attract investments are three times higher than the chances of companies that are not members of Skolkovo. We managed to create an effective system for attracting investments in startups. By the way, about 35% of investments come from American and other foreign venture capital companies."

Russian Innovation Week began its work on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 in Boston (at the Boston Center for the Arts), and will continue its work on September 19 and 20 this year in the center of the California Silicon Valley, in Santa Clara (at the Santa Clara Convention Center).
