Youth Award in the field of nanoindustry: 6 finalists named
Finalists of the Russian Youth Award in the field of nanoindustry have been determined
The award was established by JSC Rusnano together with the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs and is awarded for the development and implementation of a new nanotechnology product or technology introduced into production with an annual volume of at least 3 million rubles. The prize fund of the award is 300 thousand rubles.
In 2013, the Award Directorate received applications from 17 regions representing all federal districts of Russia. Representatives of commercial and research organizations were equally nominated for the award.
Nanotechnological developments in demand in the construction, chemical and oil and gas industries, medicine, electronics, automotive and agriculture were presented for the award.
Innovative developments of the Award applicants are already being introduced into production at innovative enterprises in Russia, thereby proving their commercial potential. Thus, a good example of a technology in demand is the development of the first technological platform in Russia for the design of a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) with minimum design standards of 90 nm, which is used in the production of microcircuits, nominated for the Award. Today, most of the computing components of household and industrial appliances work on the basis of microchips designed using CMOS technology. And the transition to a new dimension allows you to reduce the individual components of the chips several times and in the future produce the first Russian processor with a performance of 12 billion operations per second.
On September 12, a meeting of the Commission for the preliminary selection of the Award nominees was held, according to the results of which the finalists of the 2013 Award were determined. They became:
- Andrey Toropovsky – General Director, TestGen LLC (Ulyanovsk region, Dimitrovgrad);
- Alexey Nadin – Head of the Laboratory, JSC "Research Institute of Molecular Electronics" (Moscow, Zelenograd);
