Anatomy online

Google has translated the human body into 3D
Andrey Velichko, Computer

Google Body Browser allows you to "scroll" human bodies through several "layers", gradually getting to muscles, bones and individual internal organs.

The company has introduced a new development that allows you to study our anatomy in every detail, very clearly, without leaving the web browser. And even in three-dimensional graphics, without using additional plugins like Java or Flash.

The Google Body Browser application was demonstrated at the WebGL Camp conference held on December 14.

For it to work, the browser must support the WebGL standard, which is currently available only in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari (for more information, see here). Other web browsers promise to get this technology next year.

With the help of Google Body Browser, you can see the human body at different "levels" – the nervous and circulatory systems, skeleton, internal organs, musculature – and from different angles of view. In addition, thanks to the search bar, you can determine where a particular organ is located.

The developers themselves have not yet commented on this virtual "anatomical theater". However, there is already a video on the Web demonstrating the capabilities of the new application:

Prepared based on the materials of the Daily Mail (Introducing Google Body: The new 3D medical browser that will make us all doctors).
