How to survive in a crisis

Maxim Rothschild, Be Healthy magazine

Let's say a person's gastritis has worsened. A person gets nervous through this and does not want to eat. As a result, gastritis plays out even more – and the person is even more nervous. Such is the vicious circle.

Our nervous system works in such a way that the more nervous you are, the more your stomach will hurt, the pressure will start to bully, and the heart can also catch. And some are so nervous that they even drink to calm down. And alcohol for the gastric mucosa (as well as for the liver and other organs) is not a useful thing at all. On the contrary, you can calm down to the ulcer.

A vicious circle (circulus vitiosus) in pathology is the relationship of pathological changes in the body, in which disorders arising as a result of primary changes, in turn, aggravate them. Or, to put it more simply, one disease becomes the cause for the second disease, the second for the third, and so on – until it all closes on the first disease or turns into something completely terrible. Everything is interconnected, this is how the body works.

A vicious circle is an unpleasant thing. Moreover, not only for the patient, but also for the doctor. You can't get off with "I'll look like it, it'll pass" and "nothing, dad, we'll cope with this." Here (as, indeed, always) clear joint actions of the patient and the doctor are needed. Moreover, what they will be is unknown. And what the result will be is also unknown.

Why all this talk about a vicious circle, and what does the economic crisis have to do with it?

Everything is simple. What is happening in the country now, of course, cannot but worry us. We think, analyze, worry about the future of our contributions, for the present of our work and are nervous, nervous, nervous. And this "nervous" needs to be tracked and stopped at the very beginning of all experiences. Because it's a vicious circle: we stop sleeping, we stop eating, we become irritable, our blood pressure jumps and our heart is naughty. We are in suspense all the time, waiting for some abstract trouble and, as a result, we bring the body to a state where there is already, indeed, trouble. But not with money. With the body. We have ulcers and migraines, we have a hypertensive crisis and insomnia, we are unable to adequately respond to what is happening around us. We lose control, our affairs go down, we are taken to the hospital, there we lose time and it begins (continues?) depression and... a familiar picture already, right?

So what to do to break this circulus vitiosus?

The easiest thing is not to get into it. "There is nothing cheaper than prevention," so said and say smart people, among whom there are not only doctors and financiers. What are we worse for? Nothing. Maybe we can't clearly determine whose stocking is more reliable, but we can identify the weak points of our body in order to protect them in advance, and pills and powders are not necessary at all.

Where to start? From the nervous system. The key words here are smoothness and the mode of the day. Do not pull yourself, do not start up once again.

ANTI-CRISIS MEASURES1. How to sleep

Wake up slowly and tastefully in the morning.

For example, if you need to leave the house at 9.00, then set the alarm for 7.30 to be able to stretch for an extra 40 minutes. It is also not necessary to start yourself with coffee – a contrast shower will clear your head better than any caffeine. Do not grab the newspapers-computer-TV until you finally wake up, it's better to open the window for five minutes and ventilate the room. Prepare yourself for the new day and its news, both good and not so good.

In the evening, take at least an hour (preferably two) to prepare for bed: relax, take a bath. No need to turn on the TV. It is better to look through the book, not the press – there is nothing in it worth reading before going to bed.

2. What isFood in a crisis is a doubly important thing, the more correct it is, the easier it is to cope with problems.

By the way, even the ancients understood that it is better to "jam" the problem, then there will be where to get the strength for solutions.

It is worth starting, of course, with breakfast. There should be breakfast. I don't want to go through. And don't get yourself worked up with coffee with toast or citrus juice – save your stomach. In the morning, it is advisable to eat something non-aggressive and "a little, but to the point." There are no original recipes here: cottage cheese, sour cream, cheese, boiled eggs, porridge. It's good to wash it down with tea, even better – herbal.

During the day, do not waste time on trifles, have a thorough lunch. Soup is mandatory. In general, the more liquid hot food, the better. And don't forget about sweets for dessert: the brain and heart "feed" on glucose, help them with a piece of sweet and delicious.

Dinner is optional. But keep in mind that it should not interfere with sleep, so try to do without heavy food.

We should also focus on alcohol. It is known that he does not solve problems, but, on the contrary, creates them. Therefore, it should be abandoned altogether. Until the situation becomes more stable, nerves are stronger, and evenings are freer.

3. How to liveTry to determine what you want to know and what you don't.

If you can refuse some information, refuse boldly. You already have something to think about, and without an extra "husk" your efficiency will only increase.

A person is a social being, we communicate, solve issues, make acquaintances and make deals. It is not always easy to do this, and even more often it is not joyful. But there is an easy way to avoid hypochondria: try to clearly understand that when you go to the bank to withdraw money, then (if it is not an ATM) you are not communicating with a "girl", but with her function. And she does not communicate with you personally, but with the next (fiftieth? the hundredth?) a client who came for money. She has nothing against you (she may not care about you at all), and her computer may (in fact) freeze or crash. If you look at things this way, then not a single little thing in the bank (office, transport, etc.) will be able to hurt you-alarm you-raise the pressure. Don't let the system pull you and your health to pieces.

Plan your daily routine more carefully. The fewer secondary tasks you have, the less nervous you will be, the better the main tasks will be solved. The less unexpected the metamorphoses of the day will be for you. The more confident you will be in yourself and in your capabilities.

Are you sure that after work you urgently need to get behind the wheel or in the subway? If not, take a walk. In general, walk more, it's useful.

All these simple, in general, tips will be able to protect you from ulcers and insomnia, from depression and hypertensive crises, from unnecessary worries and misjudgment of yourself in the situation.

There can be many crises, but life is one. Is it worth spending it on a crisis?
